My Group and I went to Haaga Campus Yesterday to do shadowing class 2 in Tourism. Mrs. Peitila accompanied us to the Tourism Department and introduced us to the Instructor Mr. Moilanen. After that, we went with him to the classroom in the beginning he started asking the students questions about the site visit assignment of the Hotel Plaza, what they found describing the facilities of the Hotel then he started the lecture of the day which was Personal Selling using projector while he was lecturing during the whole session.
My Personal observation point of view:
The objective of the session was sort of clear but not really, the Instructor started right away into the subject without giving any background or what he is going to cover during the lesson.
Mr. Moilanen started asking about the assignment that he gave the students visiting the Hotel Plaza but didn't give any indication about the previous session and no structure also at the beginning of the class. However the preparing, planning and organizing were fair enough.
The Instructor was trying to invite the student to participate by asking them some questions but unfortunately they were not active enough or excited to participate as well as to contribute.
The Invironment in the class in terms of accommodation, time and physical set up were support the social interaction focused in learning but the students were not mobilized to play any active role.
The style of lecturing I think is traditional way, therefore the Instructor was using all the time a projector without using other tools to attrack the students attention for more participation or to play a possitive role on the class. Also they seemed not paying attention or interested in the subject while Mr. Moilanen lecturing.
The Conclusion:
Im not sure about the Teaching Learning methodology or the approach to organize learning process that Mr. Moilanen applied. Also I dont know about the contents assessments and of course the learning outcomes. I didn't notice any functional activities in the class such as Methods to help students interactions or to play a positive role.

Shadowing 1
Yesterday, I attended shadowing class with Dr. Madeleine Vakkur. The lecture subject was about Business Model Generation, the professor distributed handout to all the students regarding the subject that she is going to talk about, then she begun the lecture, at the same time she was using social media and giving life examples of the Business Model Generation such as Apple, Intel, Nokia and etc. These tools are giving more details and clarification to make the subject more clear and understandable. At the end of the lecture she gave a break, after that she asked students to be in a group to do case study about the Business Modeling then to give a presentation about the outcome of their discussion after each group presented their case study she collected them from each group.
My observation comments as follows:
The professor made the objectives of the session clear to the students by giving them handout to illustrate and introduce the topic.
Before started the session she talked about the previous topic and then she set out the structure for today's lecture. Which showed that the planning, organizing and the method were effective and useful learning approach.
The students were invited to participate and to engage by asking them some questions and to give comments, in that way enable the professor to be sure the students understand the material.
The time of the session wasn't rushed, the accomodation was also suitable and appropriate for the students to have deep learning.
The class was well organized and the physical set up of the classroom supports the social interaction for learning.
The students seemed to enjoy the class by interacting and helping each other.
Conclusion:
After all the whole session went very well. Personally, I like the social media, the real life business example and the method she was demonstrating such as: learning knowledge question, learning knowledge participation and learning knowledge creation.
